DBX File

Outlook Express DBX File Extension

What is a DBX file?

DBX files are formed in Outlook Express email application to store their messages. The file extension stores a specific mailbox to offer impressive file management. They are typically saved within the “Document and Settings” user directory. Users can able to copy DBX files to create back up for email messages and transfer data to another system.

For easy file management, the file extension saves folders corresponding to their email mailbox like sent items.dbx , Inbox.dbx and Folders.dbx. If a folder gets missed, the Outlook Express automatically creates the folder.

DBX files can be shared manually to Windows Mail (associated with Windows Vista) and Windows Live Mail (associated with Windows 7). A few simple steps are required to follow to export the required DBX folder to Windows Mail or WLM.

Note: DBX files are made in Outlook Express and are viewed in the email client. If you want to view the file data manually and want to access it in other email clients like MS Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail and Entourage, the data will corrupt.

DBX to PST Converter, DBX to EML Converter and DBX to EMLX Converter, are some third applications that makes DBX data compatible for multiple email clients. You can use a third application to access your DBX files in a desirable email client.
