What is VCF File Extension?

VCF stands for Virtual Card File. It is best known as vCard file. The standard file format efficiently stores contact information of personal and business. It allows users for custom field including images, address, phone number and other types of media… vCard files are primarily used to transfer and import contacts from address books.

Note: vCard files are saved in a text format, so they can easily open in a text editor like Notepad. They have a block of binary data that allows users to conveniently store a photo.

VCF was invented in 1995 by Versit Consortium and handed over to the Internet Mail Consortium.
