CSV File Extension

CSV is a Comma Separated Value file that holds plain text files including numbers and letters only. These files are used to exchange data between various applications. CSV is also known as Character Separated Values or Comma Delimited files. These files can be viewed with a text editor like Notepad or a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

The file extension is basically used to export and import data from the apps holding data in tables like MS Excel.
